MarVEL is Marshall's Virtual Electronic Library - your web-based gateway to Marshall's information resources and services. In addition, there are two physical libraries, the Crocker Business Library and the Accounting Library.

Organizational Structure

The Crocker Business Library and the Accounting Library are part of the Humanities and Social Sciences Center of  USC's Information Services Division. The libraries receive significant support from the Marshall School of Business, particularly for staffing and electronic resources.

Mission

"Our goal is to ensure that Marshall students and alumni have access to the information resources they need to make informed business decisions in a free market economy. We do this by:

  • providing access to print and online business collections,

  • providing training in locating, retrieving and evaluating business information and business information sources,

  • serving as a laboratory, inside and outside the classroom, where students develop information skills critical to the conduct of business,

  • collaborating with other research units in USC's Information Services Division and with Marshall's Information Technology Support Services to provide services for Marshall faculty research and teaching

As we work with our currently enrolled students, we are training Marshall's future alumni and contributing to the development of the Marshall network. We are concerned about our students' life-long learning skills and with helping our alumni keep up-to-date regarding information resources and services."

 Access for Persons with Disabilities

The Crocker Business Library is located on the second floor of Hoffman Hall. The elevator does not stop at the second floor without a key. If you are a regular user of the Crocker Business Library, you may get a key from Marshall's facilities offices in Hoffman 501. Occasional users may ask for assistance from the staff at the front desk in the library.  There is also an on-campus telephone in the Hoffman lobby to call for assistance. The lower level of Crocker, where our computer lab is located, is only accessible using the staircase.  For physically challenged patrons, full access to public use computers, photocopying facilities and our reference book and periodical collections is available on the main floor of Crocker Library.

The Accounting Library is located in the School of Accounting Building, up a flight of five stairs from the building lobby. There is a wheelchair-sized elevator next to the staircase; keys are available in the office of the Dean of the School of Accounting.
